Retinopathy
The main conditions that affect the elderly population is retinopathy.
Different types of retinopathy, such as diabetic retinopathy, vascular retinopathies (artery occlusion, or central retinal vein), macular degeneration, retinal detachment, retinitis pigmentosa, etc.
The symptoms may be blurred vision, distorted vision, reaction to light, flashes of light, etc. In these cases it is very important to seek the services of an ophthalmologist as soon as possible and provide a good record to identify the source of the condition.
